Wait.
What an annoying word to hear.
Patience is a learned skill and if I’m being honest, it’s not a fun one to develop.
BUT, it is necessary, because a lack of patience can cause complete chaos in our lives.
There have been many times in my life when I felt God was passing me up on something I thought I deserved. Now that I can look back and reflect, I am grateful for His guidance to continue waiting. When we make choices out of desperation, the results usually aren't favorable.
My most recent test in patience has been during the home buying process. There have been plenty of times that I could have purchased a home, but it wouldn't have been the best choice. I just felt the Lord leading me to continue to be patient and honestly I still don’t fully understand why.
That’s the thing, we can choose to do a lot of things that aren’t really the best choice. I once heard a friend say, “Is it a good decision or is it a God decision?”
I want to wait on the Lord and make God decisions.
Prayer:
Lord,
Help me to make decisions with you at the forefront of my mind. I desire to make decision that are in line with the plans that you have for me. Direct my steps God and lead me to the path you would have me to take.
