He was relentless, so much more than just a history lesson. Like the Author of our faith, Martin Luther King Jr. believed in something outside of himself. He knew the reality, that the war for equality would be waged long after his fight. But he believed in a hope for the future. He believed in change before he saw it with his own eyes. He believed that the God who crafted the color of our skin created us to be a body. And in the midst of this chaos and division, I thank him for embodying the essence of faith. For standing in love and refusing to budge. For forgetting himself and lending a hand. Thank you Martin Luther King Jr., for believing in a peace that surpassed your understanding.
