Why Black History Month?

Why do we celebrate Black History Month? It is an opportunity to learn and understand how this specific part of American history has impacted our nation.

It offers another chance to dive into experiences that challenge our biases, and brings to light pieces of the Body that have been neglected and starved.

Sharing posts about Black History Month is necessary for this to happen. But do not stop there. Dive deep into the whole experience of Black lives: from the moment we stepped onto this land as prisoners, to the day our nation’s first female of color Vice-President was sworn in.

So why Black History Month? Because we need it to understand who we really are. Our pain. Our life. Our whole story. Black history is apart of us all. Let’s be intentional in treating it as such.
