“Sing songs from your heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God.” -Ephesians 5:19 MSG
Today I woke up on the wrong side of all the beds. After going off on my family for no reason, I decided I really didn’t want to go to church. And then I felt something say “Get over yourself. You’ve already let the enemy have your morning, don’t let him have the rest." You see, the true song from my heart this morning was that I didn’t feel like praising. It was a song of self pity keeping me at home; but, my God is worth praising over everything. Anything we face He already conquered. Any lie that tries to tells us to stay defeated and not rejoice in our Savior is biblically incorrect. Christ fought hard for our lives; He waged a war and stood victorious over every weapon formed against us. That means even when it feels like we're getting our butts kicked, and it will feel that way, we have a reason to praise. Our every day troubles don't change the promise of His word; our bad mornings don't have to remain in defeat. He’s always a victor. And we'll always be heirs to that victory.
P.S. I went to church and it was great! The enemy is always a liar!
