Christmas Part II: Decor

So, we’ve discussed why we celebrate, now let’s talk Christmas decor! In my previous decor post, I shared my tips on sharing a space with your child. I would like to dedicate this post to sharing my ideas for creating a festive space when you only have one room to work with.

Something I have enjoyed over the past couple of years is collecting specialty ornaments, because I believe they add life to your tree. I was gifted the cutest door ornament last Christmas from a friend, and I loved pulling it out this year and remembering what it meant to me. Collecting specialty ornaments is a fun tradition you can share with your spouse, children, friends or family members every year. Mark it on your calendars and make it a fun shopping day for everyone. You can also make it a tradition to give these ornaments to the people in your life. Let it be a kind gesture that they'll be able to appreciate every holiday season. These traditions do not require a lot of money either! Hobby Lobby's Christmas decor is usually 50% off from November - December; so, you can score some great finds there. Stores like Marshalls, Ross and Home Goods are also great options.

With all that said, here is how I created a festive bedroom:

1. Find a corner to place a tree

  • A slim tree or pencil tree would be best

2. Decorate bookshelves with Christmas themed decor

  • You can score some super cute finds at Marshalls, Ross and Targets dollar section

3. Use Garland to decorate your dresser or other furniture

  • The garland I used was purchased at my local dollar store

Check out my pictures below for some inspo!

Happy Decorating,

Victoria
